Publication: Woman's World Publishing Co, 1935, Mount Morris, Illinois
First edition. Original color, pictorial, stapled wrappers, 2 pp. Highsmith's first published work appears in Woman's World magazine of July 1935. A series of doodles and letters written by Highsmith at 12 years old to her parents while attending summer camp. She details the day of arrival, being a little home sick a few days later, a desire to go skinny dipping, of new friends and her counselors. The well written narratives show the promise of talent that was actualized a couple of decades later. A small address stamp on upper left corner, covers lightly soiled and used, a small closed tear at top edge of front cover, and a faint vertical crease through the center, else a very good copy.
