Front cover and facing page 97, are illustrations by Frederic Remington. The history of Fort McPherson located south of Maxwell, Nebraska from 1863-1880. First as Indian Country, then as a Territory, and finally as a State, the fort was there for protection of citizens and travlers. Lightly rubbed at spine ends and corners, else a very good copy.
