Interestingly Fell of Dark is the author's first written, but second published book. With a broken marriage, Harry Bentick, who is recuperating from a nervous breakdown, heads for the Lake District. He's not sure whether he's going in search of something or simply running away. After spending some time in his hotel room with a couple of girls he'd just met, Harry finds himself accused of their rapes and murders. Suddenly there's no doubt about his reason for being in the area ... He's running!
