Illustrations by Willard Andrews. First edition of this nicely executed pictorial map tracing the route of the iconic Route 66 which was fully paved by the late 1930’s running from Chicago to Los Angeles, and provided an essential highway through the American Southwest, dubbed the “Mother Road” by John Steinbeck in his “Grapes of Wrath” Andrews (1898-1989) was a noted Southwestern artist best known for his paintings of cowboys, Native Americans, murals at the HIlton Hotel, and commercial art he produced for Ward Hicks Advertising for decades. Covers lightly used else a near fine copy.
