Publication: Grosset & Dunlap, 1931, New York
First edition. Although Grosset & Dunlap is mainly a reprint house, this is the true first edition. Fine, bright copy in dust jacket with tiny chips to the spine ends, light wear to the corners and extremities, and with a closed tear to the bottom edge of the rear cover. The fiancee, a prominent society heiress, of a prominent architect is tried for his murder and eventually found "not guilty." Then the case is reopened and a young woman, Dolores Divine, a night club dancer and the opposite in the social scale to the society heiress, is claimed to have fired the shot that killed Damon Fenwicke. The authorities are sure they've got the right person this time.
