His companion on the trip was Colonel Henderson, who afterwards became famous as the capturer of Joaquin Murieta, "Three-fingered Jack", and several other California outlaws. A detailed account of the Indian campaign and the resultant discovery of what became Yosemite National Park. Some professional repair to spine ends. Previous owner's bookplate on front endpaper and front inner hinge tender: not cracked and holding. Occasional soiling and edge wear. Very good. A very scarce work.
