However a few weeks before the main ceremonies the Chancellor dies under mysterious circumstances, and no one except the doctor and the undertaker is allowed to view the corpse. Soon it becomes known the Chancellor was one of the wealthiest men in England, and his sister suspects foul play. She asks Lord Francis Powerscourt to investigate.
