First edition. Fine in dust jacket. Attorney Brady Coyne is summoned to a reclusive Maine resort hotel to negotiate a land grant with the local Indians. Upon his arrival, he finds that one of the the hotel's guests disappears without a trace. shortly thereafter, a poacher shoots a moose with a cross-bow on an ancient Indian burial ground. Then a guest is killed with a cross-bow and then gruesomely scalped. A local Indian is arrested for the murder on very little evidence, Brady comes to his defense.
