The author used many interviews originally conducted in 1906 & 1907 by Judge E.S. Ricker such as: Louis Bordeaux, American Horse, Big Bat Pourier, Red Cloud, Standing Bear, and others who were personally familiar with Crazy Horse and his life. She also conducted many interviews herself.
