Written in a neat hand in a 19th-century blank book of lined paper. "Construction of Pipe Organ" occupies 61 pages. Subheadings are: The Bellows and its Use; The Wind Box; Wind Trunks; Wind Chests; Sounding Boards; Couplers; The Tremula; Arrangement of the Pipes; Voicing; The Scale of Organ Pipes; Defects in the Key Movement; Defects in the Bellows. The "Reed Organ" entry occupies 18 pages, with subheadings: Construction; The Exhauster; Leakage; The Wind Chest; Reed Cyphering; Study of Reeds; How Reeds Are Tuned; How Reed Tongues Are Filed; The Tremolo; The Action; Voicing of Reeds. Both accounts are quite detailed and very interesting to read. Spine ends of binder showing signs of wear with interior strong and tight and contents clean and bright.
