A 14 1/4" x 10 3/8" colorful drawing that Harman sent to a friend who had a mishap and Harman sent him this art work as a reminder of the event in a humorous manner. The drawing is matted and framed to 24" x 20" and signed in the lower right as Fred "Red Ryder" Harman. Fred Harman (1902-1982) was the creator of the world-famous cartoon strip "Red Ryder and Little Beaver." In addition to the cartoon strip Red Ryder and Little Beaver appeared on the radio, movies, rodeo appearances, etc. Fred was one of the original 1965 members of the Cowboy Artists of America along with Joe Beeler, Charlie Dye, John Hampton, and George Phippen. Fred Harman's paintings were included in the first annual exhibition of the Cowboy Artists of America on September 9, 1965, at the National Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City. Fine copy.
