The author worked for most of his adult life assisting veterans of the Indian Wars and their spouses to obtain government benefits for their service to their country...This book lists the engagements, dates, who was involved, and numbers of killed and wounded. Though the majority of these engagements involved the army, prior to 1869 several of the engagements are Indian depredations or attacks on civilians, with no military involvement. An important record, with much more detail than one might expect. Numerous water spots on front and rear covers. Sunned on spine. Previous owners name on front free-endpaper, else internally clean and tight. Good-very good.
