Publication: Privately printed, nd ca 1880, NP

First edition. 5 1/2" x 12" sheet folded to 4 panels. Two bright color cover panels; the front panel depicting Brownies working hard at a water pump; the rear panel depicting Brownies dancing around as with "The "New Way," the windmill does all of the work. In 1866, Flint & Walling began operations on the corner of Mitchell and Oak streets in Kendallville, Indiana. When first established, Flint and Walling built hand-operated water pumps as well as the Flint & Walling windmill, a revolutionary product that quickly spanned the globe. Their Star Wind Mill was patented in 1878. Unlike other windmills at the time, the Star turned counterclockwise. It played a crucial role in providing water to American homesteads and farms. Two inner panels offer a bit of history about the company and how they've been able to make improvements and have been able to grow throughout the years. "This little folder is presented to you, hoping the lesson it teaches may be of benefit to you, and we leave you with the "Brownies," taking this occasion to thank our many customers for their liberal orders, and trusting that we may be able to supply you with our goods." Light fold to top corner of rear panel and with light soiling. Very good plus.
