Later printing. Originally published in 1872. 12mo. Blue cloth with gilt bust and signature of Hickman on the front cover with titles in white, 221 [blank], pp., plus five pages of book advertisements, frontis., preface, illustrated. Hickman was known among the Mormon population as a bad man but Beadle asks essentially two basic questions, why, for more than twenty years was he not brought to justice, and why was he promoted to so many offices within the Mormon Church during this same time period? Hickman provides his life and confession along with startling disclosures. Six Guns 981 calls this issue "Scarce" and advises that a hardcover edition was available as well. Former owner's small address stamp on front free fly leaf, else a fine bright copy. A much nicer copy than usually found.
