9 1/4 x 4 1/4" bright colorful covers with front cover showing an illustration of Balboa houses an 8 3/4" x 24" sheet folded to 11 numbered pages, each 8 3/4" x 4," and opens to show opposite side with a bright colorful maps, a chart showing elevations of the canal and pointing out the excavations made by the U.S. government and excavations made by the French, basic information about the canal, and a distance chart. Top left corner shows the Seal of the Canal Zone Isthmus of Panama. Maps and charts printed in aqua, peach, red and black. 7" x 22 1/2" map of the canal with cities along the canal indicated with red circles; 4 1/4" x 6 1/4" road map of Ancon, Balboa and Panama; 5 1/4" x 9 1/4" topographical map showing from Costa Rica to Columbia and pointing out the Panama Canal in red; and 4 1/4" x 6 1/4" road map of Cristobal, Colon and Mt. Hope. Inside front cover offers canal statistics. Numbered pages offer photographs, history of Panama followed by information on the ruins of Old Panama, various points of interest in Panama to include the church of San Jose, Las Bovedas, the cathedral in Panama City, Colon, the Gatun Locks, the Chagres River, the Gaillard Cut, etc. 4 full-page black and white photographs include ruined towers of Old Panama, Hotel Washington in Colon, Gatun Locks in the Panama Canal, a bird's eye view of Panama City.
