Novelist Stella Rushton travels to Norfolk to recover her balance after being jilted by her boy friend. Simon, a musical comedy writer ,has a houseful of visiting theater people but offers her his riverside cottage and a boat to give her time to recover her pride. A young man, one of Simon's house guests, is very impressed with her and his attention does much to heal her wounded heart.
