First edition. 8vo. Original printed wrappers, 19 [1] pp. Cover title is "Texas And Her Capabilities, By Wm. W. Lang, of Marlin, Texas." The speech promoted the advantages of the state for immigration. General information on Texas to include population, size, crops, livestock, landscape, etc. followed by sections on coal, the social and economic conditions, its railroad, etc. Herd 1305 says "Rare." Eberstadt 522 says: "Much on the cattle industry and on Texas as a Land of Lawlessness." Covers lightly soiled, a small closed tear to the fore-edge of the front cover and two tiny nicks to the fore-edge of the rear cover, as well as 3" split at spine. Internally clean and tight. A very good copy. "This first edition of 19 pages is not frequently encountered. It contains much on the cattle industry." Eberstadt. "Rare. It was later enlarged and reissued by the South-Western Immigration Company, Austin, Texas, in an edition of 62 pages and with a frontispiece." Not in Graff or Decker.
