Printed Self-Wrappers. 11pp. A scarce little pamphlet printed and sold by the Sam Bass Cafe in Round Rock, Texas. Sam Bass was a significant outlaw from Texas, who enjoyed a Robin Hood-like status among his many neighbors and friends in North Texas. Best known for the train robbery committed by Bass and 5 others in Nebraska which yielded $60,000 in gold and other valuables. Bass was eventually betrayed by a friend to the Texas Rangers and he was killed in Round Rock, Texas in 1878, when he and his gang came to town to rob the bank. This is an informative and accurate little pamphlet. None are dated, and the story is the same in each. Each is different with the primary difference being in the design of the front wrapper and the size of the pamphlet, which varies from 5.75"-6.5" high x 4.5"-4.75" wide. With varying degrees of edge wear and/soiling, all are Very Good and offered as a group. A scarce group accumulated over a 50 year period.
