Publication: The Sabinal Sentinel, ND (Circa 1930), Sabinal, Texas
First Separate Printing. Printed Wrappers. No pagination [20pp]. At end of text, Publisher's Notice: "The foregoing story was published in The Sabinal Sentinel running through several issues of the paper. It occurred to the publisher that there might be some people who would like to have the complete story in compact form and so we have printed a few copies of this pamphlet. Until the supply is exhausted, copies can be had at the office of The Sabinal Sentinel for 25 cents each. We don't know who is the author of this story, but the old settlers here say the account is correct in almost if not in every detail. Mr. J. W. Davenport, who furnished us the copy of the story to publish, is the son of the John Davenport in the story, who is murdered by the Indians." Two tiny chips to edges and some light general wear. Very good copy of a fragile and rare work. Additional information about this work has been handwritten and signed by J. Frank Dobie, on blank lower portion of front wrapper.
