Original color printed and illustrated paper wrappers, 166 numbered pages, illustrated. This monthly magazine was launched in 1941 by the Asahi Newspaper Company to promote the superiority of the Japanese Air Force and to describe foreign fighting aircraft in detail. The present issue contains a three-page article with a series of maps showing alternate plans for invading both coasts of the United States, several including the participation of Nazi Germany. The article includes a peculiar small map of Tokyo in English and its surrounding area highlighting the location of war industries and military bases. The issue also features a foldout summary of American aircraft assorted by manufacturer including details of their capabilities. The editor of the magazine was Toreo Saito who became a friend and traveling companion of British author Ian Fleming of James Bond fame, after the war. After helping Fleming with the background for You Only Live Twice, Fleming modeled the character of "Tiger" Tanaka, head of Japanese Secret Service after him. The novel is also dedicated to Toreo Saito. Front cover wrapper partially detached else very good copy.
