6-1/2" x 4-1/2" handbill advertising Children's Day, Tuesday, Sept 1. IOWA STATE FAIR, Des Moines, August 28 - Sept. 4, 1891. The front of the handbill is a very colorful picture of a lovely little girl dressed very fashionably in a pretty dress with a collar and wearing a stylish hat. The picture has a decorative border with flowers and bluebirds. Opposite side states, "Increased Accommodations for a Grand Display in 1891." Information for stock, products of the farm, workshop and household. Described is a Dairy Hall and an Agricultural Hall. There will be a delightful grove for camping and there will be plenty of water. Double track railway and electric car lines will quickly take you from the city to the grounds. Explained are other fun things to do at the fair along with music furnished by the Iowa State Band each morning. Tanning and light scuffing to back of handbill along with tape staining. Very good.
