First edition. 4-1/2" x 2-3/4" luxury restaurant menu. This small menu, dated April 6, 1882, is assumed to be from the Wilson House located in Wilson, New York. The restaurant and inn was built in 1844 and is still open today. Menu items include Oysters from the Providence River, Cold Dishes such as Pressed Corned Beef, Salads, Cake examples include Sponge Cake and Charlotte Russe, and Ice Cream. The front of the menu is a bright colorful picture of a young stylish lady with the following quote ... "If love is a nettle that makes [you smart, Then why do you wear it next [your heart?" PATIENCE." Tanning to recto, slightly rubbed edges else very good.
